The 2026 campaign

For Mayor
of Toronto.

Mostafa Zandkarimi

A city this consequential deserves a campaign equal to its scale: ambitious about what Toronto can become and rigorous about how we get there.

01 / Why run

Toronto can work better—and earn back trust by showing its work.

Running for mayor is a commitment to the whole city: every ward, every neighbourhood, and every resident who depends on public services that should be reliable, understandable, and worthy of confidence.

This campaign begins with listening and evidence. The goal is a platform that is specific about responsibility, honest about cost and trade-offs, and clear about the results Toronto should expect.

The listening agenda

Six questions for one city.

These are areas of active listening and research—not finalized promises. Your experience should help shape what comes next.

01

Housing & affordability

How can Toronto make room for people to build a life here?

02

Transit & movement

What would make getting around the city feel dependable again?

03

Services that work

Where is the city making everyday life harder than it should be?

04

Safety & belonging

What helps every resident feel secure, included, and supported?

05

Strong neighbourhoods

What should City Hall understand about where you live?

06

Trust & accountability

How should Toronto show the public what is working—and what is not?

The platform

Promises should arrive with a plan.

Policy releases will be published here as they are ready. Every release is designed to answer four essential questions.

01The problem

What is happening, to whom, and what does the evidence show?

02The responsibility

What can the mayor and City Hall actually control or influence?

03The approach

What would change, what would it take, and what are the trade-offs?

04The measure

How will Toronto know whether the work is producing a real result?
